After enduring a lifetime of neglect, the unlucky Samuel found himself at the BARC shelter in Houston, Texas.
The poor cat lived his whole life in a small cage, resulting in malnourishment and many health issues. Among many issues, Samuel also suffered from mange, which caused his eyes to shut.
Given his dire condition, the vets initially believed euthanasia was the only option to end his suffering.
Before the heartbreaking procedure, they shared his story on social media, to raise awareness about the importance of proper feline care.
Thanks to social media, a kind-hearted vet named Leslie Raines saw Samuel’s story and thought that he still had a lifetime ahead of him – he just needed proper care, medical attention, and someone to give him a chance.
Like Oliver Reeve, a veterinarian who recently saved one special pup from being put to eternal sleep, Leslie reached out to the BARC shelter and intervened just in time to prevent his euthanasia.
She brought him to her clinic and provided him with the medical care he so desperately needed.
Upon closer examination, Leslie found Samuel’s condition to be far worse than expected, but she refused to give up. Together, they embarked on a journey to his recovery.
Samuel’s recovery wasn’t easy, but his fighting spirit and desire to live were stronger than anything. Slowly, but surely, his overall condition improved. He finally opened his eyes and started regrowing a gorgeous, black and white fur.
As his health condition improved, Samuel’s true personality also began to emerge. He was a friendly feline who started loving all the attention and his new life.
However, that was just the beginning of his new life. Once Samuel was fully recovered, Leslie set out to find him a forever home where he could spend the rest of his life in the best possible way.
Her search led her to Bryan Smith, whose kind nature made him an ideal companion for Samuel.
Bryan and Samuel instantly bonded and Leslie was beyond happy because she knew they were perfect for each other.
Thanks to Leslie, who saved Samuel from euthanasia just in time, and Bryan who welcomed him with open arms, Samuel is now living the best life, just as he always deserved!
