Abandoned cat has found a home and asserted its forever owner with adorable actions

A cat captured the heart of a man and became his forever companion by standing on him after waiting for almost six months to find a home.

This friendly stray cat was discovered living on the streets and was eager to transition to an indoor life. He was brought to an animal shelter in hopes of finding a loving home, but despite spending three months there, he failed to attract any potential adopters.

Recognizing the need for a change, he was then transferred to the Community Cat Club, where the odds seemed more favorable. “He was transferred to us from our partners at Gloucester County Animal Shelter. He’s an incredibly handsome and large 3-year-old boy,” shared Community Cat Club with Love Meow.

“He has the most adorable permanent head tilt, which doesn’t bother him and requires no treatment, but adds to his irresistibly cute appearance.”

After Georgie arrived at his foster home, he swiftly adapted and felt at ease. He delighted in having a cozy spot to call his own and relished the abundance of attention from his human companions. Unfortunately, when a few people expressed interest in adopting him, they failed to follow through with their applications.

Nevertheless, Georgie patiently persevered, longing for a place he could truly call home. Weeks turned into months, yet no suitable match appeared. In an effort to increase his chances of finding a loving family, the rescue organization decided to relocate Georgie to an adoption center where he could garner more exposure to potential adopters.

Every day, weighing in at a sturdy 15 pounds, Georgie would peer out from his kitty condo with his endearing head tilt, eagerly anticipating the arrival of the perfect family. He warmly greeted everyone who stopped by, attempting to win them over with affectionate face rubs.

“He is an incredibly sweet boy who adores people. He loves expressing his affection by giving them gentle head bumps,” expressed his caretakers.

As the days passed, Georgie observed other cats finding their forever homes and leaving the bustling adoption floor. Yet, he remained optimistic, eagerly awaiting his own turn and the arrival of his special someone who would whisk him away.

“He eventually became the sole resident at the adoption center, as all the other cats had found loving families,” revealed the shelter staff.

“We can’t fathom how Georgie was consistently overlooked. He is the epitome of a sweet and affectionate love-bug,” expressed the shelter staff.

After spending three months at the animal shelter, followed by a month in foster care and a few additional weeks on the adoption floor, Georgie’s patience and perseverance were rewarded. Finally, he found the family of his dreams.

Georgie’s heartwarming tale caught the attention of his new dad, who, upon hearing his story, promptly contacted the rescue organization. Determined to provide a loving home, he drove over an hour to meet the deserving feline.

As Georgie received gentle strokes on his back, he instinctively climbed onto his human’s shoulders, as if staking his claim on his forever person.

“It was evident that it was love at first sight. We are overjoyed for Georgie and his new dad,” shared Community Cat Club.

After enduring life on the streets and patiently waiting for months, Georgie now revels in his newfound life as the king of his household. With a feline sister to play and snuggle with each day and a loving family who adores him wholeheartedly, Georgie’s days are now filled with happiness and contentment.
