Meet Barnaby, the Sleepy Persian Cat Who Never Misses His Morning Fix

Cats come in various shapes and sizes, each with their own unique characteristics. Some cats are soft and fluffy, while others have a sleek and slim appearance. Some cats have boundless energy, while others prefer to spend most of their time sleeping. What we can learn from this diversity is that there is no right or wrong way to be a cat. In today’s post, we will be introduced to Barnaby, a Persian cat who embodies the traits of fluffy fur, melancholic eyes, and a penchant for lengthy naps.
You may have heard the phrase “turn that frown upside down,” but Barnaby takes this expression quite literally. Despite leading a contented life, his upside-down smile gives him a perpetually gloomy and bored look, resembling that of an aristocratic feline. Oh, the struggles of being a domesticated cat, who can truly understand them?…
While his facial expression may appear monotonous, don’t be fooled! Barnaby has a whole repertoire of different looks up his alley. He can flawlessly mimic the “I woke up at 6 in the morning” expression, or the “I’ve been sleeping for twenty years, but I still want more” look. He can even rock the “permanently bad hair day” and the popular feline pose known as “pleas gib.”
To catch a glimpse of Barnaby and his various expressions, you can find him on Instagram. Don’t miss out on this unique and entertaining character!

Barnaby’s owner shared some additional information with Bored Panda concerning the sorrowful ball of fluff. According to them, Barnaby is approaching his fifth birthday in May. Initially, he was the sole feline in the household until his little sister joined them last year, although Barnaby wasn’t particularly welcoming. He is quite indulged and has an affinity for snoozing, typically clocking in around 20 hours of sleep per day. Throughout the day, he claims ownership of his owner’s chair, resulting in her having to settle for the floor if she wishes to sit down. Furthermore, Barnaby is rather selective with receiving pets, allowing them only when he’s in the mood. Despite his quirks, he is deeply loved by his owners.
