Mirage GT Gold Edition is an impressive custom car model from the now bankrupt Gemballa company. Launched in 2009, Gemballa Mirage GT Gold Edition was developed based on the famous legendary supercar Porsche Carrera GT. However, out of the 25 units created, three are more special when crafted with seven-color metallic black paint and some yellow details. One of those three cars is the Gemballa Mirage GT, also the car once owned by famous football player “Black Panther” Samuel Eto’o.
True to its name, the Gemballa Mirage GT Gold Edition supercar comes with a series of gold-plated details such as rims, mirror covers, roof vents or tail spoiler. Even the car’s side, engine compartment and many details on the rear of the car are plated with gold.
Inside, the interior compartment uses gold material in some details such as the center console, door panels and dashboard. Carbon fiber is also used, but this time it’s just regular black carbon fiber. The interior is covered in black suede, combined with yellow contrast stitching. At the center console, Gemballa delicately added a nameplate marking the 7th Mirage GT created.
Like the remaining 24 Gemballa Mirage GTs, the car has an upgraded exterior but still retains the main lines of the Porsche Carrera GT. The front and rear bumpers are newly designed while the wheel arches are made wider than before. Mirage GT has a large air vent on the roof as well as a redesigned engine cover. The large rear spoiler is designed to be fixed, instead of the active spoiler it can be set to the same position as before, the exhaust system below has also been upgraded.
Besides, there are a series of durable, lightweight carbon fiber details such as the body, spoiler and interior. Thanks to that, Gemballa Mirage GT Gold Edition weighs only 1,380 kg.
The heart of the Gemballa Mirage GT Gold Edition is a 5.7-liter V10 engine like the original Porsche Carrera GT. However, the engine has been upgraded to produce a maximum capacity of 650 horsepower and torque. Maximum torque of 464 lb-ft. Engine power combined with low weight helps Gemballa Mirage GT Gold Edition accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 335 km/h.
The car was bought by player Samuel Eto’o when he was still playing at the top level at Barcelona football club, Spain. In 2009, Gemballa Mirage GT Gold Edition cost about 400,000 pounds, equivalent to 11.27 billion VND.
