Despite attempts to bring the cat away from her owner’s grave, the following day she returned to her usual spot. The only time she leaves is to visit her owner’s children’s house, where she receives food. Strangers who encounter her also provide her with nourishment and water, yet the cat remains fixated on rolling in the earth and sleeping at the grave each night.
Keli, the owner’s relative, shared, “She sleeps there and meows. It’s incredibly heartrending to witness. It truly demonstrates the deep bond animals have with their owners.”
Experts in animal behavior affirm that although cats may appear independent, they do experience grief after their owner’s passing. They can exhibit signs of anxiety, lose interest in their surroundings, and display behavioral changes. In severe cases, it is advisable to consult a veterinarian and discuss the possibility of anti-anxiety medication for the cat.
