At a restaurant or nightclub, anyone wishing to approach Taylor Swift should be aware of the 6-foot-5, 250-pound NFL player who is wearing an arm around her.
In the most recent episode of his podcast, Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs and podcaster, revealed his brother Jason that he feels ‘protective’ of Swift when they go on dates. Kelce also talked about Taylor Swift’s romance.
Naturally, Swift is already protected by a group of bodyguards, one of whom Travis dismissed on Saturday.
After the All-Pro tight end and the singer appeared on NBC’s Saturday Night Live, they were seen exiting an SUV together in Manhattan. Only instead of allowing Swift’s security to open her door, the mustachioed Travis ran around the vehicle and gently herded the guard in the other direction before handling the honors himself.
‘Did you get any pushback for [pushing security] out of the way?’ asked Jason, a Philadelphia Eagles center.

‘Pushing them out of the way?!’ the incredulous younger brother responded.
‘I mean it’s on camera, Travis,’ Jason said.
Travis offered a full-throated defense of his intentions: ‘I didn’t push him. I placed my hand on the gentleman’s back to let him know I was behind him. If I would have pushed him, he probably would have turned around and tased me.’
Jason remained skeptical as Travis began to embellish.
‘Good sir, will you excuse me?’ Travis joked. ‘I need to get the door. Sorry. Thank you. I’m right behind you. Don’t want to startle you. I know it’s your job to keep crazy people away and if you just randomly get pushed in the back, while standing in front of a door, that can probably be a little alarming.’
But Jason wasn’t finished.
‘Do you feel like a security guard when you’re with Taylor?’ Jason asked.
‘I feel like when I’m on a date I feel the sense of: ‘I’m a man in this situation; I’m protective,’ Travis said. ‘Yeah, for sure. You always kind of have that feeling or that self-awareness I guess.’
As many Swifties have pointed out, Kelce opened her door after brushing away her security

Jason then took the opportunity to interrogate his brother about his seating arrangements with Swift.
‘What seat do you choose?’ asked Jason. ‘It’s your job to protect Taylor, so it’s your job to have the best view.’
‘No, you just got to know where the exits are,’ Travis said.
But Jason had apparently put much more thought into the subject.
‘Preferably a seat against a wall so that you can observe everything that’s happening,’ Jason said.
Now it was Travis’ turn to be skeptical.
‘No way you’re doing this,’ he said.
‘Ask Kylie,’ Jason said, referring to his wife. ‘I do not like being seated in the middle of a room. I only like being seated up against a wall.’
Travis poked fun at his older brother by saying ‘noted,’ and asking if he’s ever had a security team.
When he’s out with his wife Kylie, Jason Kelce mentioned that he enjoys sitting along the wall (right).
“No, really, I’m the security,” the 282-pound, 6-foot-3 Jason remarked.
Travis laughed and said, “Oh, if you get security, you could probably go right in the middle of the room.”
The Super Bowl rematch between the two brothers, which will take place in approximately a month, will mark only their fourth meeting in their individual careers.
Taylor has admitted in the past that she is an Eagles fan, but she has also been seen wearing red during Travis’ Chiefs games, indicating that she supports Kansas City. Taylor is originally from Philadelphia.
In the end, she might have to borrow a strategy from Donna Kelce: Jason and Travis’s mother attended the Chiefs-Eagles Super Bowl in February, which Kansas City won, wearing a personalized jersey.
