As part of the almost endless upgrade trend for the Mercedes-AMG G 63 worldwide, Brabus has just introduced a new variant of the SUV bearing the 3-pointed star logo. The full name of this version is Mercedes-AMG G 63 900 Rocket Edition and the German tuner limited production to 25 units with a starting price of 570,000 USD (480,000 euros).
True to its nickname Rocket, the Mercedes-AMG G 63 900 Rocket Edition possesses extremely impressive speed. The most significant upgrade is that Brabus has increased the capacity of the V8 engine from 4.0L to 4.5L. Along with that is a larger twin turbocharger than the original equipment, adding a high-pressure fuel pump, a Ram-Air intake system, a high-performance exhaust system… In addition, the ECU controller is also reinstalled to increase ignition efficiency and fuel combustion.
The above improvements bring the maximum power of 888 horsepower (900 PS) and maximum torque of 1,250 Nm, but traction is electronically limited to 1,050 Nm. With a 9-speed automatic transmission and 4-wheel drive, the 2,560 kg SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, 0.8 seconds faster than the standard specification. The maximum speed is set at 280 km/h.
Not only does it have powerful performance parameters, the Mercedes-AMG G 63 900 Rocket Edition also has a new, more aggressive appearance than the original car. The most noticeable change is that the spare wheel at the rear has been removed, which helps the SUV look neater and reduces weight. In addition, the new system helps reduce the ground clearance of the G 63 to 45 mm.
At the front, the front bumper is designed to be more aggressive with air intakes and wind deflectors in a sports car style. The radiator grille is made of carbon material with red accents and the B logo replaces the Mercedes symbol.
The most prominent detail at the rear is the large carbon spoiler on the hood, this equipment is usually only found in sports cars or supercars.
The Mercedes-AMG G 63 900 Rocket Edition is equipped with exclusive 24-inch Brabus Monoblock Z Platinum Edition wheels. The wheels have a unique design with carbon trim combined with spokes made of glossy black alloy. The car’s disc brake system is a high-performance type with front/rear dimensions of 400 mm and 370 mm.
The exterior of the modified version also has many details made of carbon, including the hood, wheel arches, rearview mirror covers, door handles, side air vent decorative covers…
Although there are no significant changes in design, the cockpit of the Mercedes-AMG G 63 900 Rocket Edition is still more luxurious and special with a series of upgrades from Brabus.
The rear bench has been upgraded to a two-seat luxury layout similar to that of the Mercedes-Maybach models. The center console has a work table, cup holders, a beverage cooler, and a screen for customizing the seat functions. All four seats are covered in expensive leather and are heated and ventilated.
The entire cabin is covered in leather, carbon fiber or decorated with high-quality metal, from the steering wheel, door panels, center console, armrests or gas/brake pedals…
In addition to the available equipment from Brabus, each customer who orders the Mercedes-AMG G 63 900 Rocket Edition can request many additional options to personalize the SUV.
